bought this because I felt like I was having buildup on my scalp and hair from my other hair products. I have thin, wavy, hair but a lot of it. This shampoo smells good, pretty mild scent. It leaves my hair feeling clean and removes my buildup.

My Go-To Reset Shampoo

I use this shampoo when my scalp needs a real reset — after product buildup, dry shampoo, or heavy styling. It cleans deeply without that harsh, squeaky feeling. My scalp feels fresh and balanced, and my hair feels lighter and healthier after washing. I don’t use it every wash, but when I do, it makes such a difference.

Refresh and Reset; Important Tips

As a curly girly, I typically use 3-4 different products in between washes and found that my typical shampoo was not bringing my curls back to life like usual. For reference, I have seborrheic dermatitis (scalp condition) that requires me to flip between nizoral during flares and another moisturizing shampoo every few weeks. After talking to a few curl experts and doing my own research, I found this sodium olefin sulfonate C14-16 ingredient which essentially pulls all oils, dirt, and product off the hair follicle. This detox shampoo holds this secret ingredient to completely reset your hair; however, this is a HARD reset, all oils also includes the natural oils produced by your scalp that help condition your hair. When using the shampoo, it lathers really well and takes a minute to rinse out, leaving the hair feel dry but heavy. So yes, this product is extremely drying to the hair but I did not find that it irritated or dried out my scalp. It is a bit concerning when you start to rinse it out due to the texture of your hair but I used my regular conditioner after and my hair detangled with no fuss as usual. I would strongly recommend to limit the use of the product to once per month. After towel drying my hair, my curls were all extremely well defined and felt so light/bouncy. I immediately applied a leave in conditioner to my hair after towel drying to add back some of the oils that my hair needs. I was also careful to not use any protein treatment (as they are also very drying) for at least 2 weeks after the detox shampoo to give my hair some time to restore the natural oils to the follicle. As long as you are aware how intense this product is and do the necessary steps to take care of your hair after use, then I would highly recommend this product.

I absolutely loved this shampoo! My scalp felt detoxed and extra clean after just one use. I also loved how bubbly it was and how well it lathered through my hair. If you are looking for something like this, you definitely need it.
