My favourite everyday essential!

I've used City Block for years, it serves as a perfect base for my foundation while protecting my skin. Last year I couldn't find it in stock anywhere so had to try some alternatives which just made my oily skin even oilier. I was so glad when City Block reappeared, there's no face protector that compares!

Lovely and light

Good for spot prone skin, no white colour, love it- please bring back higher factor for summer holidays (not the orange tube alternative which is terrible)

Good alone or under makeup

I've used SPF 50 for years that has been replaced with SPF 25. As well as protecting the skin it does great things under makeup. I used Clinique Even Better foundation and they both work great together.

Perfect under makeup

I used the SPF 40 version of this for years and was very pleased with it . Unfortunately that was discontinued so I tried the new SPF 50 in the orange tube . I really don't like that so bought this one in the green tube SPF 25 . It's seems to soothe my skin and sits well over moisturiser and under makeup almost works like a primer . I only wish it was a higher SPF

Bring back the SPF 40

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Clinique, bring back the City Block SPF40. Nothing compares to itÖ

I love this stuff!

I absolutely love this product! I don't like to wear a lot of makeup, or very thick foundation, but I want my face to be protected. I pair this with tinted Clinique moisturizer, and the results are perfect. This goes on smoothly (I apply after Clinique Moisture Surge first) and then apply the tinted moisturizer - letting each layer dry a bot between applications. This stuff is great.

Amazing product

Please do not ever discontinue this! It creates lovely sheer coverage on its own but moreover, when used under makeup, it is the perfect base for keeping my face radiant yet NEVER shiny. Plus on holiday my face doesn't burn. I absolutely swear by it.

I'm so happy to be able to get this again. I've been using the Superdefense one which is okay but then I got this one and remembered how good it is. Please please don't stop making it!

It's Back!

Oh thank god, it's back. The spf25 City Block might not be as good as the spf40 but it is ten times better than the spf50 version. I was so excited to get notification that this was back in stock earlier this week I ordered 3. I missed out on the summer gift which came in a couple of days after I made my order (typical) but it's worth it to get my City Block.

I've been using this for many years now, so have been fraught that its been out of stock for so long. I've tried substitutes nothing matches it. Its all I need as a foundation and is lovely on my skin. Please NEVER discontinue it

This is ok. I have very fair skin, and I didn’t realize the tint would be so dark and yellow. It does blend out ok, but even blended it’s a bit too dark for my skin tone. Wearing a light powder or foundation over it helps though. The texture is thick and drier, but applies surprisingly well on my dry skin. I do have to use a lot though, which is a bummer because you’ll just go through it faster. I prefer sunscreens that are more liquidy and light, but can’t wear chemical sunscreens, so am limited on my options. I bought this because it was marketed as a primer, and I think it does an ok job. Since it’s thicker though, if I wear foundation over it I feel like I’m wearing a mask on my face. It looks ok, but feels heavy. I also have clog-prone skin and I think this may make it worse. The jury is still out, but my pores do seem to be more clogged when I wear this daily. I don’t hate it enough to return it or toss it, but I don’t love it either. If you have medium or dark skin tone and skin that isn’t clog-prone, you may have better luck.

City Block SPF 25

I'm really impressed with this product. I chose this one because the SPF 40 was out of stock so I may try that one when the weather warms up a little but I am so happy with this I may just stick with this one and layer another sunscreen underneath when it warms up. My husband even commented on how fresh and clear my face looked wearing this. And for him to notice anything it's got to be good. Such a sheer tint (I added the even better concealer on some discoloured areas) but so fresh looking and dewy without being greasy. Just make sure you don't try and use this as a moisturiser spf and foundation all in one because for me (dry skin with dark spots ) it's too much to ask for such a lightweight product. Moisturiser then this for a radiant natural look. I am a devoted clinique customer for over 11 years but this is the first product that has given me that clinique model effortless natural glow.
