Skin softening, but doesn’t remove makeup

I am a big fan of this brand overall and decided to try this cleanser for my sensitive, combination skin that has hormonal breakouts and dry patches simultaneously. This creamy cleanser is helpful for regulating the sebum levels in my areas are hydrated- no more flakes and no more oil! However, it’s not great at removing my CC cream so I do use a micellar water as a first step, then this, then a hydrating toner. The “trick” to using this to get my skin so soft is to gently massage it onto dry skin with dry fingers for a solid 3-5 minutes and then use just the smallest amount of water to begin the removal process. For example, after massaging into skin I get my fingertips wet and keep making circles all around my face - this loosens all the dirt debris gently so I am not stripping my skin. Then I dampen one of my bamboo washcloths to fully remove the rest, using a fresh cloth each time. Thanks to The Ordinary for using a minimal amount of botanicals and zero fragrance of any kind!!!

Good cleanser not special

This cleanser works fine but doesn't feel as though it's doing anything special.

Formula Change

I've been using this cleanser for the last two years and it has worked beautifully for my sensitive acne-prone skin, until I opened my last bottle, I noticed that the smell/texture seemed a bit different than usual but thought nothing of it. After just one use, my skin became SO inflamed, red, itchy, and rough. I kept using the cleanser as I wasn't sure what was causing it and was really trusting of the product which made it worse and completely destroyed my skin barrier :( My skin was stinging all over, and my face swelled so much that I could not open my eyes or my mouth. It's been 3 days since I stopped using it (after I saw other similar reviews and realized the issue) and the effects have only just started going down. I'm really sad about this formula change as this used to be my absolute favourite cleanser ever, and not sure why it would be changed as it was genuinely a 5-star product, I'm wondering if there is any way to get access to the old formula? :(

50ml cleanser last for 20 days

I was disapppinted, not by the qualtity of this product but by the packaging of it. I bought this for my trip for the size of if. First use I squeezed the tube as I did with all other tubed skin care product, nothing came out, a few more aqueezes brought a big air puff-out. Then the entire use it's struggle of squeezing the cleanser out of the tube. In about 20 days, I could squeez out any from the tube. It is 50ml cleanser, use once each day. and could not last over 20 days! It is not alone, I bought a 30ml moisturing cream, same happend. Did I buy from a batch of product badly packaed? Of this is common for the fat/short tubes? I even don't know if there was enough content in the tube. Never happend to me that a 30ml cream and 50ml cleanser last less so shortly.

I swore by this product for years, but the most recent bottle I bought is giving me bumps/closed comedones all over my face. I spent weeks trying to figure out what was going on, as my skin is typically dry but clear. One day stopping this cleanser and my skin is immediately clearing up.
