Finally!

I finally found my holy grail. I'm 45, in peri, and have combo skin. Over the last few years Ive spent hundreds of dollars on expensive moisturizers, only to make my acne worse. This is the first moisturizer that Ive found that doesn't clog my pores and break me out. Its lightweight, but gives you the feeling of an ultra thick heavy cream.

Non-traditional gel moisturizer

The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors plus Beta Glucan is an unusual moisturizer because it is completely clear and colorless. Something science-y about that. I guess I didn’t realize I expect some color or some milky appearance in a moisturizer. It’s not quite as thin as a water serum because it does not run and holds its shape, like a gel. The consistency is smooth and a little plush, like perhaps a primer or aloe Vera gel (though I haven’t looked at ingredients list). Though it absorbs nicely without a filmy feel. This moisturizer feels high-tech and non traditional in experience, and is a little jarring but interesting to use. There is no scent. complimentary from theordinary

Very lightweight clear gel moisturizer

I was gifted by the ordinary in exchange for my review . This beta glucan moisturizer is nice. It’s very lightweight. It’s clear and non scented . It’s more of a gel than a moisturizer. It does give a light hydration . If I’m being honest though, it’s not my favorite , I think it will be great for in the summertime but for right now , I’m looking for something a little more heavy duty . It didn’t cause any breakouts or irritation. But it also didn’t make my skin feel very soft either . It’s like a gel serum that is slightly moisturizing.

Better suited for warmer months

This wasn't a horrible horrible moisturizer but I'm not sure it's for me, at least not in the cooler drier months. While it's lightweight gel texture feels nice going on, I found it to be kind of drying and left my combination skin feeling tight. This might be better suited for the warmer months when my skin gets a tad bit oilier. Complimentary from The Ordinary.

Gel Moisturizer

This moisturizer is light and hydrating and dries super quick. It comes out clear like a gel and spreads smoothly and evenly. No tackiness or stickiness left behind and my skin woke up calm and balanced. Great price point for a light moisturizing option. So good! complimentary from theordinary

Love

I received it as a gifted by theordinary. The texture feels more like a gel-cream, absorbs quickly, and doesn’t leave a greasy or sticky finish, which I really like for daytime or under makeup. It keeps my skin comfortably hydrated and calm, especially when my skin feels slightly irritated or dehydrated, but if you have very dry skin, it may not be rich enough on its own. There’s no fragrance, which is great for sensitive skin, and overall it feels like a no-nonsense, reliable product that does exactly what it claims—basic hydration at a fair price, nothing fancy but dependable.

Weird Miss

Complimentary of theordinary. I was excited for this product originally, but was sorely disappointed. It’s very sticky, like, so sticky that I had to use it by the sink just so I could immediately wash it off my hands. I also didn’t find it particularly moisturizing and had to apply an additional moisturizer on top. Overall pretty disappointed with it. I suppose if you want something lightweight it would be fine. #giftedbytheordinary
