What happened Commodity!?

Let me start by saying this is one of my favorite scents and perfumes of all time, I have worn it religiously for years - I don’t know if Commodity has changed their formula, if something happened during manufacturing - but not only does it have hardly any scent but it also does not smell remotely like it has in the past. ot

I adore this fragrance! Straight obsessed. It's unlike anything else I have tried. Simple, understated, personal. It's a new kind of warmth and soft sweetness that isn't obviously floral or woodsy; it showcases Sandalwood so well! I would love this scent in lotions and candles too.

This was my first blind buy and I regret it. The alcohol smell is a bit overwhelming and it smelled more like insect repellent than a woodsy, paper inspired smell. Thankfully, after a while, the Iso E Super is more noticeable.

Really lovely, despite bad sample size version

The sample I got of this in the “personal” intensity had the terrible alcohol smell. I risked ordering the travel size in “expressive”, figuring there was just something wrong with my sample. The gamble paid off. This one is great! It’s subtle, woody, dry, and warm and definitely what I would think of when I hear unisex fragrance. If you are looking for your whole neighborhood to smell you, get some Sol de Janeiro, this won’t be strong enough for you. The expressive is noticeable without much sillage and has pleasant changes in notes throughout the day without just wearing down to musk, amber, or baby powder. I find it pleasant and balanced, and if you want to add a spicier or woodier fragrance over it for evening, it does well as a supporting player. It’s particularly nice with Tom Ford’s Bois Marocain and the Prima body oil. This is a grown folks’ daytime fragrance that performs well for the price point . I got the expressive rather than bold because I work in an office setting and don’t want it to bother anyone with sensitivities or linger, but I probably could have been okay judging by how gentle the fragrance is.

LOVE the scent of this. It kind of reminds me of the smell of newspaper but in a good way? It's also reminiscent Molecule 01 (at least how it smells to me when I spray it on myself).

I wear it everyday

I really enjoyed Commodity's "Milk" so I decided to smell the other samples in store and I fell in love with the Commodity "Paper" scent. I find that it takes a while to develop on my skin and it starts as a faint fresh wood scent and builds to have sweet and musky layers. Even after I shower I can still smell hints of it coming off my neck. If you like having a very powerful aroma this may not be for you but if you like something more intimate and very unique you may enjoy it.

zero scent!

I had the exact same experience as another reviewer. there is absolutely no scent at all! I had previously tried a sample that I loved, very disappointing.

Clean, Modern, Multifaceted

I bought the travel size to test how I would feel about this fragrance. I have been wearing it for about two weeks and I am really loving it! At first spray, I admit I wasn’t impressed, I mostly smelled alcohol, and seemed to me more masculine than unisex (like borrowing your man’s cologne) but the more I wore it I could see the beauty in this fragrance. (I wore it to bed, and the entire night I just kept sniffing myself) At first you will encounter a synthetic note, followed by heady wood courtesy of cedarwood, softened by the sweetness of sandalwood. Amber-like and giving a hint of baby powder lingering as a top note. This fragrance is perfect adapting to your body’s natural chemistry. I love it’s well-rounded simplicity. Gender-fluid. Luxury. I really think this should be one of Commodity’s bestsellers and I recommend trying it. I will definitely be buying the larger size.

NO SMELL AT ALL

Wow so disappointed. Waited months for this to come in stock and it just arrived. Id originally gotten the sample from Ipsy for this is the weaker strength. Which is 100x stronger than this. I CANNOT SMELL THIS AT ALL. So disappointed, I've been hyping this up to everyone. And it's literal no better than water.
