Le Male Elixir Absolu packs serious scent strength—just a couple sprays last all day. The bottle design is iconic and high-quality, true to the Gaultier style. Its creamy vanilla and spicy notes make it stand out in a crowd. Great value given the performance, though it’s more suited for fall/winter or night use than daily wear. Still, a versatile choice for special occasions. Easily one of my favourite fragrances.

Another Designer Flanker!

Disclaimer: I received this product for free from Influenster and Jean Paul Gaultier in exchange for my honest review. As noted by the uninspiring name, and if you’re familiar with the original Elixir, yes, they do smell similar. According to JPG, this 2025 Le Male flanker has 3 main notes of plum, lavender, and tonka bean. However, as many other reviewers have stated, there’s a little more to it than that. The opening is quite sweet and fruity, but there’s also a slightly aromatic and spicy undertone that comes from notes of cinnamon and cardamom. The classic JPG lavender note becomes noticeable quite early, along with the green and bitter mid note of davana/artemisia to balance out the sweetness. It’s not mentioned, but there’s also a powdery undertone that smells similar to the iris note found in Le Male Le Parfum. The base note of tonka bean is accompanied by the rich warmth and depth of benzoin, ambrette, patchouli, and labdanum. As always, the performance of the fragrance is subjective, but the majority of people, including myself, have gotten above average performance of around 8-10+ hours, it can last well over 12 hours as a skin scent, and the projection is really good for the first 6+ hours. The scent itself is made to be worn all-day every-day in the fall and winter months, but could also be lightly used during spring and summer nights, or for dates and special occasions. People who know the Le Male series will definitely smell something familiar, especially when compared to the Elixir version. Due to the opening blast of sweetness, this newest version of Le Male can come across as smelling pretty unisex, but it’s still balanced out by some spiciness, which prevents it from becoming overwhelmingly sweet or cloying. Even though the sweet notes are quite strong throughout the development of the scent, they are well-blended, have warmth and depth, and more importantly, they don’t smell cheap. Can you blame a designer fragrance for simply being a good “designer” fragrance? This new 2025 Le Male flanker leaves a bit to be desired, and it does feel like a bit of a “cash-grab,” rather than something new and exciting. I personally prefer the Le Parfum version or even the original Elixir, but this is still unapologetically a Jean Paul Gaultier creation, and it delivers on what people have come to expect from the flamboyant brand with the iconic bottles.

Love love love! I’ve never used a Jean Paul Gaultier fragrance before and I have truly been missing out, love the scent, last all day! And has the nicest packaging! Would highly recommend!

Cool perfume presentation! Comes in a gold can on a red velvet stand. It's an Elixir, strong and long-lasting. I sprayed it in the morning, and my partner could still smell it hours later. The scent is a combination of amber, spicy, and fruity. With notes of plum that are unique. Making for a luxurious and pleasant scent. Perfect for daytime to night time for perfume lovers.

I’m a fan

Lasts plenty long. It is better than the original in my opinion less talcum powder smell. It does a good job projecting as well. Nice warm weather scent.

Reçu gratuitement via Influenster, et franchement, belle surprise ! Le Mâle Élixir Absolu, c’est chaud, sensuel, un peu sucré sans être écœurant. La lavande et la tonka font le job. Et le flacon doré ? Il en jette, clairement. Idéal pour les soirées où tu veux sentir bon et te sentir bien.

First impressions of the Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male Elixir Absolu, opening of the Elixir Absolu is rich sweet plum, lavender, mint and cinnamon. It is a fruity sweet but still gourmand, smells interesting, I definitely like it. As it starts to dry down it becomes more of a bubbley iris note. As it dries down even more, the sweetness form the tonka comes out with a hit of lavender. The fragrance is a little more syrupy and fruity with kind of this sparkling iris that's also a little bit powdery and I love it. The performance is quite good, obviously the plum lavender mint all that sweet syrupy aspects are all kicking and pushing the scent. Great longevity and great projection on my skin. I believe this would be a Fall/winter fragrance for sure. Amazing bottle presentation and packaging, very good for gifts for boyfriend or husband or in general. The frengence is more rounded, more balanced, smooth and pleasantly gentle scent. I would definitely get this.

This fragrance is very unique. I really love the presentation. I really enjoy the notes for me. I find it unisex, but that’s not a complaint. I personally like more unisex fragrances. Smells amazing worth the money beautiful bottle to look at.
