I tried a sample of Valentino Donna Born in Roma Purple and it immediately felt a little different to the original, but in a really nice way. On first spray, I noticed a rich, juicy fruity note that felt deeper and more grown-up rather than overly sweet. It had a slightly cosy, almost evening-ready feel from the start, which made it feel more special than an everyday fragrance. As it settled on my skin, the scent softened and became warmer. The floral notes came through gently without being overpowering, and there was a creamy sweetness underneath that made it feel smooth and comforting rather than sharp. I liked how it didn’t stay too loud — it evolved nicely and felt quite elegant as time went on.
