Stay-Matte Universal Blotting Puder

Holy Grail for Summer and/or Oily Skin!!

My HG for summer!! I adore this blotting powder and have been using it for years! It does a great job of absorbing the oil and sweat that accompanies going out in the summer here in the hot, humid South. It’s invisible so no worries about color-matching. I always carry this in my purse. I apply with a big fluffy brush, but you can use the blotting sponge that comes with the compact. It also has a mirror so that’s a big plus!

I use this with Clinique Universal Face Primer and it seems to help with my shininess. The primer is actually great and I think it helps a lot (for oiliness) on its own. I agree with many reviewers that this powder is VERY difficult to get out with a sponge. I use a paperclip to scrape off a bit before I use the sponge. that seems to help. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. I do not use make up though (no foundation, powder, etc.. just use serum and moisturizer) so I don't have any feedback on how it works (or ruins) your makeup.

Invisible, lightweight, great for setting make-up

The Clinique Stay-Matte Universal Blotting Powder works perfectly for setting make-up for my combination skin. It's indeed a little more firmly pressed in the pan, but I only had issues with picking it up with very soft brushes; most of my powder brushes are synthetic ones, slightly dense packed and all worked well with the powder. But this powder works best for pressing it with a brush, not dusting as you do with a loose powder. I rarely used it for blotting, but the sponge applicator works decently well. When touching up I recommend using a blotting paper first, than the powder, it helps more to not look cakey or disrupt makeup. When using the sponge I got some make-up transferred to the pan, but once I use a brush a couple of times those areas are 'cleaned'. I have combination skin (maybe I get a little oily after 6-7 hours) and the powder helps me control shine, but I don't know how much it would help very oily skin. I also have large pores, the powder has some blurring effects, but not life changing. While the powder is white, it doesn't yield an white or ashy cast on me (light-medium yellow warm undertone). The packaging is slim and very practical, I actually kept it as a pocket mirror after I used up the product.

I liked the sample better than the full size, the full size tends to soak up the oil into the compact and get areas that won't "blot" onto the sponge. you have to rub and scrape. works well to blot oil wihtout leaving heavy residue behind

Amazing product

Thee best!! And i'm NOT a Clinique fan but this really is the best blotting powder on the market. It leaves a nice silky matte finish without being too heaving or leaving a white hue over your face or makeup like other brands do.

Bonne poudre, matifie correctement et fixe bien! Mais doit repasser son pinceau plus d’une fois pour avoir un résultat correct due à la poudre très compact! Bonne poudre mais je m’attendais à mieux vu le prix!

A decent that requires a bit of work

This powder has a very hard overspray that makes it so a brush and sponge picks up almost nothing. I recommend, and I did, scrape off the top layer and then I could pick up a decent amount with a brush and sponge. So gently scrape the top layer off and it's fine. My complexion is close to Rihanna's (I don't have foundation) and it didn't leave a terribly obvious white caste on me. With further blending of a brush any slight ashiness went away. I highly doubt it would leave a white caste on anyone darker either. It blurred a bit, and didn't look powdery, cakey, or dusty on my bare skin at all. At the third hour my nose got a bit "glowy", not very oily. This is a nice powder that I would definitely buy again.

Meh

If you're not too oily, this might work for you. This does not keep me mattified. It will absorb oil but half an hour later, oil will pop back up again. I did however like the fact that this isn't heavy, however the powder is pretty stiff in the pan.
