Face and Body Emulsion Niacinamide 5% - Leichte Emulsion

Very lightweight

This product is indeed very lightweight, actually a bit watery. But it seems to be a pretty good product, I *think* it has slightly faded some freckles, which I personally want. I would say give it a try if you want to even out dark spots and see if it works for you.

Impressive.

In the famous words of Roy Schneider, I’m gonna need a bigger bottle. It almost feels like water going on, but it has improved the texture of my skin very quickly. I use Tretinoin and I moisturize, but this has smoothed the skin under my eyebrows and under my eyes and reduced the appearance of pores (which is the reason I purchased it) in a remarkable period of time. I was clearly missing something important in my routine. I wish they would offer a nice, big bottle like Aveda shampoo and conditioner come in- with a pump. I would purchase it.

A must-try skin care routine.

I find this product mild and safe to sensitive skin. I tried the higher concentration Niacinamide from the same company but this is way better. No irritation, no active breakouts, and no redness. It takes a little time to see the improvements but definitely worth it!

Worked amazingly well for dark spots on body

I had extreme discoloration under my breasts for years from chafing and after trying a lot of things I decided to buy this. I use it 3x a week and after a couple of months the discoloration is almost gone! While I haven't tried it on my face it really worked wonders, and it's inexpensive enough that if it didn't work I wouldn't feel too terrible about it; I've tried things that cost a lot more that didn't work at all.

Free, not free

I just received this and have only used once, so can't speak to effectiveness, other than it applies nicely and absorbs quickly. Really I came here to echo others: the free-gifted-product reviews are incredibly irritating. They are unreliable, and just make me wonder why all these people are getting free products while I'm paying for them. If they are "influencers", they are influencing in the wrong direction. Please stop.

No difference in the skin.

Finished an entire bottle. Didn’t see any difference in the skin at all.

Niacinamide 5% Emulsion

I love the Ordinary Niacinamide 5% face and body Emulsion. I use it after I've used Ordinary Glycolic acid facial toner and it keeps my face calm and hydrated and tones down my redness. The product is not sticky or greasy at all and to be honest it doesn't feel like I'm wearing much but over the last few months of using the niacinamide emulsion I have no skin breakouts and no skin redness anymore!!!! Using this has made my skin tone even, and at last I don't need to wear makeup which is amazing as I'm in mid 40s!!! P.S I really wish Ordinary was around in the 90s!!!

Great product

I have already finished my first bottle and I am waiting for the second! I love this product. This emulsion absorbs immediately. It is perfect for my dry to normal skin.

Got expensive

I used this serum after trying out other serums by ordinary. It worded good after a month. But h noticed the brand got expensive.

Not for Nut Allergy People

I really loved this emulsion, but sadly, it does not love me. What I like: Serum-like lotion, which is perfect for layering under richer creams with actives. Niacinamide combined with a mild AHA mix is extremely moisturizing and brightening. The Problems: This took me awhile to figure out, but basically, if you put a common allergen (in this case, a nut oil) in formulation with AHAs and a mildly-occlusive base, you create a perfect storm for contact dermatitis, because the AHAs compromise the skin barrier, making the skin more permeable to the allergen, and then the emulsifiers lock the allergen against the skin for prolonged periods. When I used this just on my face and hands, it was fine, but when I put it on my outer forearms, where the skin barrier is already compromised by prior years of sun exposure and lots of hair follicles through which it could gain deeper entry into my skin, I got a rash so bad that the only thing that would fix it was a course of oral steroids my doctor had to prescribe. Because nut allergies are relatively new to me, and still kind of unpredictable, I did not think to even look for nut oils in the ingredients list (even though I scan ingredients very closely, because my skin also hates salicylates and zinc), so I missed this. And then when the problem only showed up on my arms, it seemed like an allergy didn't make sense, so I had to have that part explained to me. But now I get it, and I wonder why a company like The Ordinary would even choose a nut oil to add to a product like this, when nuts are such a common source of allergies for so many people. I wish I could just switch to the 10% formulation, but my skin is also no fan of zinc. Honestly, I would be thrilled if there was a company that used all of the great actives and support ingredients, with none of the allergens, zinc, fragrances, and salicylates, but maybe that's just me. Anyway, I thought my fellow allergic types should know about this. I'm going to reluctantly throw mine away, because nut allergies are not predictable enough to use my face as a testing ground.

Light and easy

My favourite Ordinary product! So lightweight and easily absorbed. No stickiness. A perfect undercoat to more heavier moisturisers. Love this product addition in my skincare.
