I was gifted by Clarins and this cream has very quickly become the first thing I reach for in the morning. I have been using daily and am starting to see results. It is moisturizing but not heavy and scented but not overly so. It definitely works if used consistently!

Worth the hype!

The cream has a lovely texture, definitely more for dry skin. It is a thicker cream and feels like it is providing the hydration needed. Provides good coverage and I noticed skin felt softer after use. Wish I had more product to try!

This Extra Firming Energy cream from Clarins is amazing! I love the way it makes my skin feel and look. I use this once a day during my morning routine. Its easy to apply, has a thick, creamy texture, and absorbs fast without leaving any residue or greasiness on my face. After using it for some time, I've definitely noticed some great results. My skin tone is brighter, texture more even, and skin feels plumper and firmer. My face stays hydrated all day long and feels so soft. I’m feeling this!

gifted by Clarins Alright. Let’s talk about this glow-up in a jar. Clarins Extra-Firming Energy Cream has officially earned a spot on my vanity. After a few weeks, I genuinely see the difference. My skin looks smoother, more lifted, and noticeably more radiant. It gives that “I drink water and mind my business” kind of glow. Fine lines look softer, and my face feels firmer without feeling tight. The texture is rich but not heavy. It melts in beautifully and gives an instant brightness boost, which is clutch on early mornings or long days. It also plays very nicely under makeup. No pilling, no greasiness. If your skin has been feeling a little tired or blah, this is that pick-me-up. Firming, glow-boosting, and giving grown woman energy in the best way.

Not hydrating/nourishing enough on initial use

I received a 5ml sample of this new product from Clarins and am reporting my initial impressions based on several uses as opposed to long term use and results. I am also basing my review on what I feel is the product's suitability for MY skin type (normal to dry) and needs and whether in my opinion the formula improves upon its predecessor, which I have also used. The review is thus based on the product as update. Two notable new ingredients: niacinimide and orthosiphon stamineus extract have sebo-regulating/pore minimizing and mattifying properties respectively, notwithstanding niacinimide's supposed ability to do just about everything for the skin from boosting collagen to inhibiting melanin production to protecting the skin barrier. Argan oil replaces apricot kernel oil (in theory a worthy improvement for anti aging benefits though apricot oil is said to be better suited for sensitive skin and also has brightening properties) and instead of goji berry extract, known for anti oxidant and hydrating benefits there is red ginseng, seen as superior for collagen support. Pecan shell extract is a new ingredient for Clarins used throughout the extra firming range, which again, in conjunction with the new polypeptide adresses collagen synthesis. I have no reason to doubt the merits of these new ingredient technologies and can commend Clarins on putting out another pleasant smelling product (similar but more mellow than the former energy cream), which both applies and absorbs nicely. I do feel that perhaps a slightly younger (I'm 50) but even more relevantly, an oilier type complexion would find greater fitness with and ultimately benefit from this updated cream which has somewhat of a light balm texture (see attached photo of the old and new products side by side with the new one appearing as a yellowish golden shade). I would recommend this product to 40s skin that skews oily to normal/combination. It is definitely excellent as a makeup base drying quickly and leaving a smooth finish. I also think it's non irritating and that sensitive skin should not find any issue with it, though I feel the previous cream was more soothing and more hydrating. More generally, I feel that Clarins is changing the direction of its brand to some degree away from being exclusively plant based and with very exclusive and luxurious plant ingredients at that, to being more of a hybrid line with a narrower range of very exclusive plant ingredients, and featuring more of more "sustainable", more common, and also possibly less costly to produce, botanicals. Acerola and leaf of life extract, which were in the old energy cream, known for firming, brightening, free radical scavenging, and soothing and hydration boosting respectively, can still be found in the brightening and hydrating ranges of Clarins' facial skin care but along with kangaroo paw extract, paprika extract, and rosemary, have been eliminated from this new cream. The remaining botanicals along with shea butter have not been changed. Ultimately I am not a chemist or a botanist but rather a dedicated, curious and keen observer and user of Clarins products for over 30 years. I still believe in the brand and the quality it stands for, but preference is ultimately subjective. This is a good but not great product for me as the user. Im not sure I'd buy it but I can see others possibly liking it. Definitely 7 days would be a minimum to judge its ultimate efficacy, based on its claims and I'd highly recommend sampling the product before buying it.

Strong aroma

I don’t like this as much as my regular skin care routine it has quite a strong aroma if anyone has any sensitivity. Ordered my old familiar one

gifted by clarins As a 46 year old woman, I am trying to take my skin care routine more seriously. I have been using this daytime cream every morning, for about 2 weeks now. It smells lovely and the orange coloring reminds me of a sunny morning. It seems a bit thick but a little goes a long way. Be gentle with your application and it won’t leave residue on your face. My skin felt almost instantly smoother when using this combined with the night cream. I didn’t have any redness but I did have a mild breakout(I have clear skin) but I do not know if it was from this or a hormonal breakout.

I have been using the extra firming energy cream for a couple of weeks now and I am obsessed with how hydrating and plump my face feels. I love that the texture of it is not too thick so it works well under makeup. Gifted by Clarins

Love that this product gives your skin a healthy glow that helps make it appear healthy and youthful. It’s especially great when paired with the night cream to help smooth the skin while you sleep.

Creamy face

This cream is very thick and a little goes a long way. It is very moisturizing for the face without being greasy which I like. The smell of the cream is pleasant and even my husband that is sensitive to strong smells liked the smell of it. As of the effects of the cream, with such a small sample (received free for my honest opinion) it was hard to tell if it made a diffemts in fine lines but it did vastly improve my dryness that I have been fighting all winter. I would recommend this as it is a good product.
